The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency is accepting applications for Diesel Emission Reduction Act (DERA) grants through August 4.
Approximately $1 million is available with a maximum award of $400,000 for diesel equipment owners from the private, public, and nonprofit sectors to replace or improve eligible diesel equipment. Grantees will be required to provide a cash match for a percentage of the equipment cost, and the old diesel engine, vehicle, or equipment must be destroyed.
Funding for this RFP comes from the U.S. EPA National Clean Diesel Campaign and Minnesota’s portion of the national Volkswagen settlement.
Eligible equipment may include marine engines, locomotives, trailer refrigeration units, terminal tractors, drayage trucks, and off-road engines, and equipment or vehicles used in construction, handling of cargo, agriculture, mining, or energy production.
The request for proposals and information to help applicants submit proposals are on the grant web page. There are also details about accessing an online training designed to assist applicants scheduled for June 8.
All questions regarding the RFP must be emailed: grants.pca@state.mn.us, subject line “DERA Grant 2022 Question”.
