Apply for Minnesota Schools Cutting Carbon before Dec 15

We need your help. We are working to identify 100 public high schools, colleges and universities across Minnesota to take part in the Minnesota Schools Cutting Carbon program.

There are so many schools doing great things right now to reduce their energy costs and carbon footprints; we hope that this will be an additional resource to help them meet their goals.

Program Resources include:

  • There will be $50,000 in “mini-grants” – $500 for each student group to help them implement their carbon-cutting project(s).
  • There will be ten (and potentially twelve) $20,000 competitive grants for schools with the most creative and effective projects to reduce energy use.
  • There will be $375,000 of technical assistance available across the state for the 100 participating schools to reduce their energy usage.
  • There will be a website that links and tracks all 100 schools. It will provide a platform for students and teachers to share resources and ideas, raise additional funds, and calculate their carbon savings.

Please help us spread the word! Please call or e-mail your local public high school, junior college, or college/university and insist (well, at least strongly suggest) that they take advantage of this program.

The deadline for application is December 15th, but we recommend folks get the applications sent in ASAP.

Thanks everybody,
