CERTs is partnering again this year with the Recycling Association of Minnesota to help Minnesotans recycle their old holiday lights instead of throwing them away as part of Recycle Your Holidays™.
Recycle Your Holidays™ is a one-of-a-kind statewide holiday light recycling program in Minnesota. Residents can drop-off their unwanted light strands at one of our 400+ participating locations during the holiday season starting November 15 and running through the end of January each year. The program employs over 200 individuals with developmental disabilities at vocational centers throughout the state of Minnesota. Every bulb of the light strand is dismantled by vocational center clients and then properly recycled in Minnesota.
CERTs is putting together the map of all drop-off locations again this year, and we’d like to encourage you to sign up as a drop-off location in your community!
From Ely to Fairmont and everywhere in between, any business or organization can participate as a collection site at NO COST. It is a great way to provide a value added service to customers. The Recycling Association of Minnesota provides collection bins, signs and promotional materials. If your business or organization is interested in participating in the Recycle Your Holidays™ program, you just need to fill out a quick form on RAM’s website. It’s that easy! Once you’ve signed up, RAM will send you a free collection bin and help promote your site as a collector. When the bin is full give us a call for a free pick up.
