Community Program Coordinator

- Dependent on qualifications and experience, we expect the compensation range for this position will be $25-$26.50 per hour.
We are looking for a Community Program Coordinator to join our growing Communities Department! This role will report to the Community Program Manager. The Community Program Coordinator will support a variety of projects working with local governments and community partners, focusing on building electrification, community engagement, energy planning, and local energy policy. Initially, the community program coordinator will support CEE’s Electrify Everything Minnesota program. This person will be highly organized, self-directed, and proactive in their approach to work. The Community Program Coordinator needs to be agile and goal-oriented as they assist with the launch and implementation of energy efficiency and electrification programs at CEE.
What You’ll Do
Project coordination:
- Support the launch and coordination of programming initiatives in the Communities Department and other CEE departments as needed.
- Coordinate project tasks, following up with partners to keep project pieces moving and meet deadlines
- Track program activities, budget, and impacts.
- Assist program coordination through scheduling, planning, and notetaking.
Engagement and outreach
- Present program information, updates, and training to stakeholders.
- Coordinate the planning, logistics, and delivery of community-facing events and workshops.
- Conduct direct outreach such as tabling at community events and presenting at community meetings to grow awareness and participation in energy programs.
Writing and content development
- Develop communication content across multiple channels, including printed content, online content, presentations, and other program resources.
- Conduct research and write reports to support the communities department as needed, on topics such as local government energy policy, residential electrification, and community sustainability initiatives.
- Develop program reports and recommendations for improvements.
Other duties as assigned or apparent.
Working Conditions
- Some in-state travel, expected to account for about 10% of working hours.
- Attending some meetings and events on evenings and weekends will be expected.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, outcome-driven environment with responsibilities to meet deadlines and program goals.
Skills, Experience, & Knowledge We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent years of experience in relevant field required.
- 2 years of previous experience in coordinator or similar role required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong ability to craft clear and compelling deliverables.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and on a variety of tasks.
- Exceptional organization and time management skills and the ability to prioritize.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and educate groups of stakeholders and strong public speaking skills.
- Strong competency with Microsoft Office products including Word, PowerPoint and Excel required.
- Hold a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation to attend meetings and off-site events in communities, including transportation of materials and equipment as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in sustainable energy or related field preferred.
- Experience in public policy and/or working with local governments preferred.
