The following is a sample of new energy-related funding opportunities being promoted by the Minnesota Department of Commerce, Division of Energy Resources.
 

RFP for Conservation Applied Research and Development Grant Program – Seeks proposals from organizations or individuals interested in applied research and development projects that serve to accelerate the development and adoption of new energy efficient technologies and strategies in Minnesota. The information obtained from this effort is intended to inform electric and natural gas utility Conservation Improvement Program (CIP) development and state energy policy.

  • Eligibility: Individuals, public or private entities actively involved in electricity and natural gas efficiency program implementation or research and development

Community-Scale Clean Energy Projects in Indian CountryDOE is soliciting applications from Indian Tribes, Tribal Energy Resource Development Organizations and Tribal Consortia to install “community-scale” or “facility-scale” clean energy systems on Indian lands to provide electricity and/or heating and cooling for local use in tribal buildings.

Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) – Deadlines extended to May 31 for REAP funding applications. Funding from the Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) for 2013 is available to Minnesota farmers, ranchers and rural small businesses for the development and construction of renewable energy systems and energy efficiency improvement projects. REAP is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The application deadlines were recently extended to May 31, 2013 for the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Improvement (REEI) Grant and Combination Guaranteed Loan and Grant Programs, as well as for Renewable Energy System Feasibility Study grants. Deadline for REEI Guaranteed Loans only is July 15, 2013. A total of $60 million is available nationwide for REAP during fiscal year 2013.
