Maddie Norgaard joins Metro CERT as Minnesota GreenCorps Member

Metro CERT is excited to announce our newest staff member, Maddie Norgaard, who started in September as our new Minnesota GreenCorps Member at Great Plains Institute!

Maddie’s work includes assisting local governments and schools with tracking and reducing their energy use through energy efficiency measures. She gained valuable experience in the energy and environmental field as an undergraduate student at the College of St. Benedict and St. John’s University, where she worked as an environmental educator for three years, conducted research at the Department of Energy’s Argonne National Laboratory, and wrote her senior thesis on oil pipeline development in Minnesota. Most recently, Maddie served as Outreach Coordinator for Honor the Earth, a non-profit environmental and Native American advocacy organization, where she encouraged Northern Minnesota citizens to act on clean water issues. Maddie is eager to channel her passion for sustainability into increasing energy conservation efforts in the Twin Cities.

Please welcome Maddie to the CERTs team! Here’s her contact info:
