Metro Clean Energy Resource Team (CERT) welcomes two new city sustainability staff to the Metro CERT Steering Committee! As a part of CERTs individualized work with communities across the state, each region of MN is home to a CERTs Steering Committee. Steering Committees are made up of local people passionate about the work who want to help guide the direction of CERTs efforts in their region.
Welcome to Jamila Boudlali, sustainability specialist with the City of Bloomington and Olivia Dorow Hovland, sustainability planner with the City of Coon Rapids. Boudlali and Dorow Hovland are both actively engaged in local efforts to reduce energy burden and to increase energy efficiency, promote renewable energy, and electrifying energy uses — all to reduce greenhouse gasses.
They both also participate in the Community Energy Network. Community Energy Network (CEN) is a growing peer network of city staff working on clean energy in Minnesota. CEN is facilitated by the Great Plains Institute and CERTs, and aims to advance action in cities across the state by sharing promising practices, lessons learned, and opportunities for support.
