CERTs welcomes a second AmeriCorps member, Cole Felton (he/they), to Metro CERT at Great Plains Institute!
Cole’s focus will revolve around beneficial electrification outreach and project support in the 11-county Metro region of CERTs. This includes everything from transitioning to electric vehicles in the public and private sectors, converting buildings from fossil fuel to electric heating and cooling systems, in addition to any related infrastructure, such as batteries, charging systems, and electric panel and wiring upgrades. Cole supports projects with direct community outreach, often connecting communities to grants and grant writing technical assistance, as well as back-end planning and development.
Originally hailing from Pennsylvania, Cole graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia where they earned their B.A. in political science with a concentration in environmental policy. Cole aspires to work within the international policy sector of sustainability and ecology.
On their leisure days, Cole enjoys exploring new coffee shops, thrift and vintage shopping, gallery hopping, and knitting/crocheting a new accessory to showcase.
