As someone who works across Minnesota helping communities harness the benefits of clean energy, I am thoroughly impressed by Minnesota's community clean energy efforts. Minnesota is home to various meaningful clean energy related projects, some with impressive cultural elements.
For example, Project FINE, a Winona County based nonprofit, is leading multiple efforts to assist local immigrants and refugees in learning about affordable clean energy options. They recently translated energy resource materials into Hmong and Spanish. They’ve also been leading outreach to connect with community members and help people understand utility bills and possible ways to reduce costs.
This is just one of many extraordinary projects going on in Minnesota’s clean energy world, and I feel momentum is building for future projects. There are more electric vehicle charging stations, schools are working to access the Solar for Schools grant program, and businesses are using Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) financing to reduce their energy bills.
