Money for Geeks: Scholarships for energy engineering or energy management students

The Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) Twin Cities Chapter is pleased to offer for the first time two $1,000 scholarships to students planning to pursue of a career in Energy Engineering or Energy Management.

The AEE Foundation Scholarship program was established to encourage qualified practitioners in energy engineering and energy management to further education in these fields by awarding scholarships. To date, the Foundation has awarded over $600,000 in funds nationally for use by 1,115 outstanding students.

Scholarships are available to candidates obtaining their undergraduate or graduate degrees who are enrolled in an accredited college or university focusing on energy engineering or energy management.

  1. A personal recommendation from a faculty member of the school that the student is attending that describes the student’s academic standing, character and financial need.
  2. Current transcript.
  3. A 50-100 Word Statement from student explaining why the student wishes to study energy engineering or energy management. This Statement should also describe financial need.

Mail your application and all other supporting documentation (faculty recommendation, transcript, and statement) no later than April 1, 2012 to:

Winners of the AEE Twin Cities Chapter scholarship will be notified by mail by August 15, 2012 and invited to attend our Awards Banquet at our September 2012 Chapter meeting. In addition, all qualified applicants will have their applications forwarded to the AEE Foundation for their consideration of a scholarship award at the National level.
