Primary Duties

The Program Specialist will support the execution and management of outreach and trade ally programs in the energy efficiency sector. This role will focus on assisting the oversight of a team while ensuring that program objectives are met, with a strong emphasis on operational efficiency, stakeholder engagement, and the effective delivery of energy-saving initiatives. You will assist in managing relationships with community-based organizations, contractors, trade allies, and other stakeholders, and play an integral role in promoting and implementation of energy efficiency programs. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader, highly organized, and experienced in energy efficiency program communications and management.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Operations

  • Manage a team to run outreach campaigns and trade ally programs effectively.
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring tasks are completed on time and efficiently.
  • Provide training to align the team with program goals and timelines.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain relationships with community groups, contractors, trade allies, engineers, and local governments.
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders to ensure program goals are met.

Outreach & Promotion

  • Plan and coordinate outreach events such as workshops and training sessions.
  • Educate stakeholders about program benefits and incentives to increase participation.

Partnerships & Business Development

  • Establish new collaborations with contractors, trade allies, and community organizations.
  • Represent the company at industry events to advocate for energy efficiency programs.

Program Execution & Tracking

  • Monitor outreach efforts to ensure they meet goals and stay within budget.
  • Analyze participation rates and program impact to improve strategies.

Materials & Communication

  • Develop outreach materials like brochures, presentations, and newsletters.
  • Ensure communications are clear and align with program objectives.

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Work with internal teams (program managers, marketing, operations) for smooth program execution.
  • Generate reports on program activities, performance, and stakeholder feedback.
Experience

Education & Experience:

  • Actively pursuing or completion of a degree in Environmental Science, Energy Management, Sustainability, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in program management, outreach, community engagement, or a related field, with a focus on energy efficiency or sustainability.
  • Experience managing relationships with diverse stakeholders such as contractors, trade associations, and community organizations.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team while maintaining a focus on results and efficiency.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence diverse audiences.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects, events, and logistics simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to adjust strategies based on stakeholder feedback and program needs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and CRM software.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in energy efficiency, sustainability, or renewable energy sectors.
  • Familiarity with trade ally programs, supply chain management, and vendor relationships.
  • Previous experience working with community organizations, contractors, or trade allies.

Working Conditions:

  • Travel within the region is required for outreach events, workshops, and meetings.
  • Evening and weekend work may be necessary to attend events and engage with stakeholders.
  • Work will take place in both office and field settings, depending on the nature of the program's requirements.
