Local governments and businesses are looking at options to make their operations more energy efficient. This Wednesday, leaders met at St. Cloud City Hall for the 2014 St. Cloud Area Green Forum. Alex Svejkovsky with radio station WJON covered the event and published a story!
Presentations were given by Saint Paul Port Authority and the Clean Energy Resource Teams about how businesses, non-profits, local governments, schools, and state agencies can become more energy efficient to save money. Both organizations have helped different private or public facilities in the St. Cloud area.
Peter Klein is the Vice President of Finance for Saint Paul Port Authority. He says Port Authority offers three State-wide financing programs — Trillion BTU, PACE of Minnesota, and Energy Savings Partnership. Klein says Port Authority recently helped the Sawatdee restaurant upgrade to energy efficient boilers.
Peter talks about SPPA programs:
Lindsay Wimmer is the Outreach Coordinator for the Clean Energy Resource Teams at the University of Minnesota. She spoke during the forum about the Guaranteed Energy Savings Program. Wimmer says St. Cloud State University took advantage of their program and have been happy with their results.
