Hennepin County is looking for local faith-based communities to use a recently updated toolkit for congregations to educate and engage their members in environmental actions. Click here to download the 68-page Congregrations Environmental Education Toolkit >>
Hennepin County will provide program support, training, technical assistance and educational supplies for congregations to implement environmental education projects and encourage environmentally sustainable behavior.
Congregations are invited to participate in the any or all of the following ways:
- Receive toolkit training. Hennepin County staff offers free trainings to educate you and your congregation members about how to best implement the environmental education toolkit in your faith community.
- Attend quarterly networking meetings. These informal meetings will include toolkit training and activity workshops, outside speakers, and provide time for collaborative work and idea sharing with participating faith communities. Dinner will be provided.
- Form a green team. Hennepin County staff will assist your congregation in forming an environmentally focused group within your congregation to increase environmental awareness and action in your community.
In addition, congregations who complete a work plan will receive free educational supplies and further support, training and technical assistance from Hennepin County for six months.
